Backtesting limitations

Historical tests depend on data quality, code, settings, costs, fill assumptions, sampling, and the chosen period. Overfitting, lookahead bias, selection bias, and regime change can make historical performance misleading.

Indicator limitations

Indicators transform historical or current market data. They can lag, produce false signals, fail in new conditions, and cannot predict outcomes with certainty.

Execution and leverage

Spread, slippage, liquidity, gaps, platform interruptions, and leverage can materially change live results. Losses can exceed expectations.

Optional third-party automation

Optional third-party automation introduces additional risks, including alert delays, duplicate or missed alerts, webhook failures, internet interruptions, MetaTrader or Expert Advisor downtime, incorrect broker-symbol mapping, rejected orders, slippage, spread changes, platform outages, and configuration errors. Users are solely responsible for testing and monitoring any automated setup and for all orders submitted through their accounts.
